Both figures were given the name “Messenger”; meaning that they had been sent by God on earth with a message for humanity. However, while Muhammad was also given an additional title as Prophet (Nabi) which defines him as someone who receives divine revelation from Allah to deliver His Message to mankind; Jesus never claimed divinity nor did he claim to be anything other than what He was-a human being sent by God with a message for humankind. As such it is not surprising that Muslims believe only in the Quran revealed through Muhammad whereas Christians accept both the Old and New Testaments revealed through Jesus.
